Our Story

12th Annual Josiah's Ride

Cruzin' 4 a Cure

The Zionsville American Legion Riders (Riders) is part of a non-profit 501(c)(19) organization created to assist local families with children who have been diagnosed with Leukemia or Lymphoma.

We met Josiah Nelson and his family in 2007 and created the Josiah’s Ride: Cruzin’ 4 a Cure Benefit to sponsor and support them during that difficult time.  We are so happy to say, Josiah is now a healthy 19 year old.  Since 2007, the Riders have helped 13 additional families and together we have raised a total of $130,424 over the years.  In 2017, with the help of our sponsors and participants like you, we were able to donate a total of $15,209.  This allowed us to make donations to the Elder's families; help two additional families; donate to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and distribute food\gas gift cards to families at St. Vincent Children’s Hospital and Riley Hospital for Children. Due to your generous support, we had minimal out of pocket expenses allowing us to give even more to those stricken with cancer and the research that is so desperately needed.

We need your help again this year. Sponsorship and community participation are keys to our success.
